MCDONALD’S annual Monopoly competition has been under way for a month and many customers have been lucky enough to win prizes midway through their Big Mac or 10-piece McNugget meal. However, fast food fanatics only have 11 more days to snap up prizes before the competition ends on Tuesday, October 16.

McDonald’s started its annual Macca’s Monopoly “collect to win” campaign in 1987. Since then, the fun eat-your-way-to-a-prize competition has surged, becoming a highly anticipated event for Macca’s fans around the country.

More than 50 million worth of prizes are up for grabs this year, including travel and fuel vouchers, entertainment systems and a new car. Even if you don’t get your hands on one of these, on average one in five eligible purchases result in an instant win, which can score you free fries, burgers, drinks or parking.

However, hardcore players aren’t in it for small rewards. They’re doing everything they can to collect a full set of properties and the major prizes that come with them.

“By collecting some of the most sought-after tickets in the game — like Oxford St, Liverpool Station or Mayfair — customers can also score prizes like a Suzuki Vitara, a 0,000 Flight Centre gift card or a Sony Ultimate Entertainment Pack,” a McDonald’s spokeswoman said.

As always, in each set of properties, one is classified as rare and it is often this property players search high and low for to secure a coveted complete set.
